At Kimble, we take a two-pronged approach to being green. Not only do we incorporate eco-friendly practices into our daily operations, but we also strive to build mixers that have the least impact on our environment as possible.

Here’s a quick glance at some of the things we’re doing right now to reduce, reuse and recycle for a healthier, safer world.

Environmentally Responsible Operations

Reducing our Energy Consumption

• Special lighting in our factory reduces our consumption of electricity.
• Strategically-placed dual insulated glass windows increase natural light in our shop, further eliminating the number of artificial lights. It also reduces our dependence on a heat source in the winter months.
• Fluorescent lighting throughout the offices are turned off when not in use.
• Concrete driveways and parking lots last longer than asphalt and have a lower reflective heat.

Reusing our Byproducts

• The Kimble factory’s state-of-the-art air handling system brushes “used” air clean and then recirculates the heated air back into the shop.
• Our property features ponds and grounds managed by natural resource/environmental technology students from our local vocational high school. This pond system helps us manage our own stormwater while providing a natural fish and wildlife habitat.

Recycling our Waste

• Recycling bins throughout our facility save paper, glass and plastic from the landfill.
• Scrap steel and aluminum from our fabrication shop is recycled for other uses.

Environmentally Safe Products

Mixing concrete can be a dirty job, but we do our best to keep our Kimble mixers as green as possible. For example, we only use low VOC paint on all our finished products. Our mixers also are built to be completely recycled at the end of their lifecycle. We do not put any part of a decommissioned mixer back into a landfill.
